I've had the strangest problem since I built my new pc.
For about a week since I built it, I can get on the internet but I can't log into hotmail, gmail, ebay etc and also log into msn messenger + windows update.
For a WEEK and asking various people who are all stumped on the problem I done the following:
-Everything for a SSL problem, e.i http://www.duxcw.com/faq/win/xp/secure.htm
- With and without router, same problem (my brother is fine through router)
-Have NO firewalls running, even disabled windows one
-Formatted about 8 times in total on a fresh HDD and used 2 different xp discs, and windows MCE -- SAME PROBLEM!
Then, out of no-where yesterday I disconnected my 2nd HDD (I have primary 74 g raptor, and 2nd is 250 gig Hitatchi) and installed XP from fresh with just 1 HDD connected.
Guess what, it worked!
Now the reason I post this really is to find out how the hell a 2nd HDD could cause the logging into sites problem, and also today I got the problem back again
so i turned pc off, disconnected 2nd hdd and hey presto I can post this message coz it works again 
Anyone got ANY idea? This seems to have baffled everyone
