Very Very annoying crysis warhead problem

Basically I cannot install Crysis warhead. I put the CD in, it autoruns, I have an option to play but the install option is greyed out.

I have had it previously installed on my pc but I uninstalled it as normal a few months ago. Ive tried searching through the registry + my computer and deleting everything to do with crysis + crytek etc... yet it still wont let me install.

When I try to run the setup.exe straight from the dvd, it starts installing then tells me that the data is corrupt and quits!

Anyone know how to deal with this?

If there's a problem with the installation media, give it a good clean and see if that makes a difference. If all else fails, three options come to mind that could work:
1. Contact EA and ask them for a new disk so that you can install the game.
2. Obtain installation media from any other source (e.g. a friend) and use your activation code.
3. Register your Crysis and Crysis Warhead codes on Steam and download from there.
 
Wasnt sure earlier, but it looks like you cant register retail versions of crysis and crysis warhead on steam. sorry :(

First two suggestions still apply, however. Probably your best bets..
 
ARRRR it didnt work :( its definitely not the CD as I've tried it in my other computer and it installed fine, I've installed warhead many times before on this computer so its not my CD drive. I just want to play!
 
thats the thing, it isnt! Ive deleted everything in the registry that has crysis warhead etc.. in the name and Ive searched my whole computer for any traces of crysis and there are none!

im really stumped now
 
the only time I havee had this was installing a webcam and I managed to knock the power lead out half way through:rolleyes: In the ned I had to do a windows system restore. This is only much use if you have just attempted to install it.
