Bit of an odd request.

I know cases exist for itx systems that have VESA mounts for the ability to be mounted to either a wall mount or the back of a display, but...

...do any cases exist with TWO VESA mounts, one on the back, one on the front. So you can mount to the display, and the wall (so the display and system are wall mounted using the same bracket)?

Lol, I was all set to ramble about Akasa Crypto cases, then I actually read your question :P

It's a lovely idea now that you've said it, but my suspicion is no - on the basis that most mITX cases are quite small and flimsy, and wouldn't do well to have a 4-5kg monitor hanging off them full time!

...as a crazy idea, can you use one half (2 screws?) of the monitor's mount for the case, and the other for the wall bracket? Absolutely no idea whether it's physically possible, or whether the weight would just shear off the screws, but would be fun to try!

My thoughts exactly, though I'd also considered something along these lines before.

Imo the easiest way to achieve this would be to find another VESA plate and mount it underneath the TV VESA mount, while bolting them to each other. Then you'd have a hanging arrangement like so:

Don't know if the picture conveys what I'm getting at. Of course the TV's VESA mount would need to stick out somewhat to allow space for the HTPC.

What about mounting the monitor to the case. :D

CHIEFTEC BRAVO Series BL-01B-OP

Don't know if you can still get them but the above case was desgined to have a normal VESA screen mounted to the front of it.

That's fine, but does the case have VESA on the back too so the whole shebang can be wall mounted?

If not, fail at reading OP.

If its a TV that you are mounting (200mm rather than 75mm) you could put one mount on the wall, another on the screen and then connect them by log screws or some form of bolt, then slide the case in between?

While I like the idea of a case having dual VESA fittings as people have said before, my worry would definately be the strength of the case needed. I can't imagine many case manufactorers wanting to do it as some n00b is bound to come along and attach some monster TV to it and then moan when it rips the case to pieces.

How about a VESA compatible case (like Lian Li's) and buying two wall mounts, then mount the case slightly below the screen or something? Not quite as nice, but doable.
