I have just purchased a monitor that does not move up or down or turn to portrait, so I was wondering if you can buy a fairly cheap desk stand (similar to the standard Dell stands) that I can fit onto my new Hyundai?

seems to be 100x100 vesa reading on a french site. But dont take it as a yes, as most places dont state it..but then again i think most LCD's these days are Vesa compatible, either 75x75 or 100x100

Ideally I want a normal desk stand like the Dell's and Samsung's have that will allow me to raise and rotate the TFT... but so far I have had no luck in finding something like that :(

very nice looking that one, seems to do the job, thats on my list to look into tomorrow for sure

I believe that that one is the same one Dell monitors have... the screen that came with the Dell PC my Dad bought has the same looking stand.

I am tempted by the swivel arm one now (Neo-Flex™ LCD Arm)!

/Edit: after a bit of price checking, I have found the LCD Stand cheapest for £31.18 and the LCD Swivel Arm for £54.65. In the ideal world I would buy both... but money doesn't grow on trees :(

Do you think that the Neo-Flex LCD Arm can be compressed so that the monitor is at the edge of the desk?

I have my desk against a wall and the TFT is right up against it. I am assuming that the arm will make the TFT come out a little, but the desk is only 60cm in depth, so I want it to stay as close to the wall as possible... do you think it will work? I have emailed Ergotron to ask them, but I thought I would ask here to get a second opinion :)

I was about to link you to the ergotron thread that was on here a while ago. I see you already found it ;)

It's a good read and seems like a good choice. Also, the otehr one you were looking at (http://www.ergotron.com/Products/De...mid/396/PRDID/126/language/en-GB/default.aspx) isn't used on Dell monitors. I believe it has greater functionality than the ones you were referring to.

If you look back at the thread, you should be able to see the problem I have. If it comes out 30cm then it would be inches away from my face... which isn't a good thing.

When I go back home from Uni in August next year, the depth won't be an issue... but its a problem here :(

I decided that I may as well buy it and try it out... if it really doesn't work too well, I can always return it.

So after £51.03 deducted from my account, it should be arriving early next week (in time for the replacement Hyundai 22") :D

KnightStalker - I will post back here with what I think of the Neo-Flex after I have played around with it :)

alrighty cool man, ive gotta wait till sunday for my pay cheque to clear anyways, so i couldnt do it yet, but would love to see some pics and your views on it for sure.

The only thing I am concerned about with this arm is the distance it will come out... but that won't be a problem when I am back home from Uni next Summer.

The weight of my monitor is 5kg, so that will not be an issue and from reviews and posts on here the features and flexibility of the product sound amazing :)

Well the monitor is now arriving tomorrow, but here is the stand:

As you can see from the image above, the arm is going to cause the monitor to stick out around 5 inches from the wall, and since mine is already at 4 inches, I am not too bothered :)
