Hi folks,

I got myself a 55" OLED on Thursday, & a 1Home VESA swivel stand for it. That's not a wall mount, it's a TV stand, with a pillar with VISA attachments on it.

Does anyone here know anything about these sort of stands?

What is a bit troubling, is that you screw two vertical rails to your TV (easy, nice & secure) & then use the rails to hang the TV to a horizontal mounting plate (essentially a wide rail) on the stand.

It basically just hangs on there, there's nothing on the stand I have to screw it on & secure it, it can lift off & on (two man job though).

Is it normal for simply the weight of the TV to hold it in place?

Yes it is. Though there are sometime a couple of small screws to secure it to the rails

Why is it a two man job? I manage to hang my 60" Kuro on my own :P

Yeah sure.
The weight of the TV will keep it there, its just using the TV's own weight to keep it on.
It won't move unless you want it to move.

It's doable on your own but certainly easier with 2 people.

Them type of mounts usually have a small screw the secure it in place that just screws up to the metal, not into a hole or anything.

Yep - ty, I eventually figured out the use of a little screw & bracket, instruction diagram was way too small.
