i got a ATI EAH 5870 in my corsair 800D running stock settings.
just wondering if theres anyone here using a corsair case with one of these cards in but using the vf3000 to cool it.

if so, what are your thoughts, is it worth it, will it dump shedloads of heat into the case?

im running a H50 to keep the cpu cool, and have loadsa decent fans fitted .

what do you think, worth the hassle ?

Well not using the case you mentioned but I wouldn't bother screwing up the warranty on the card to fit an air cooler, water cooling maybe, the stock cooler is perfectly fine, it's not as if the 5870 runs hot and your case has the excellent airflow which will keep temps even more down. Regarding dumping heat in the case, nah with decent airflow through the case it would not be a problem.

thanks for the reply, the main reason i was asking was i was getting around 44 idle and 78 load playing bfbc2 earlier this evening.
..was worried that this was a little too hot.

Nah them temps are fine but I will say the vf3000 gives excellent cooling on a 5870, tests on this forum have shown a load temp of 55c running furmark, so if you want overclock and keep temps and noise to a minimum then yeah the vf3000 is a good choice.

but as you say, no point is screwing the warranty if im safe enough at my temps.
incidently, i was wondering at what point i would need to worry temp wise?
