The best air solution for X1900?

Well... if airflow in the case is a problem, then get one of those vantec fans. I'm not too sure of those myself, unless they really do cut the centigrade... I don't think I could live with the extra noise given off by those 2 fans. :)

Edit: I'm assuming you mean to get both for the X1900.

VF900-CU all the way, it was designed for the 7900/X1900 generation of graphics cards. That blue thing has been on OCuk since the dawn of time, I bet it doesn't do much at all. :o

Ive put AS5 on cpus loads of times. Just a small pea sized amount in the center of the core.

Is this the same for the GPU core? small pea sized dot in the middle?

Actually the Acellero totally owns those benchmarks. How is it the Zalman VF900-CU isn't cooling it whatsoever in this chart when I've seen it taking 25c+ off an X1800XT.

Now you tell me

I'm going to the shop first thing tomorrow morning, what should I get
I'd say a Zalman VF900-CU straight off the bat as they're designed with the X1900XT-X in mind, and because the chart above does not accurately show their cooling ability as if they can take 25c off an X1800XT I am sure they can do much better on the 7800GT in that chart!

As far as I have heard, the Acellero actually blows the air at the motherboard. I would like someone to back this up as it sounds utterly absurd.

The VF900-CU, I know for a fact, cools any current graphics card like the bees knees, quietly, and as long as you have decent airflow it all ends up outside.

Will be more than enough airflow mate as long as you have one intake (preferably on the side panel) and at least one exhaust in the rear of the case.

My airflow is currently assisted by 1x90mm fan in the side window and 2x90mm extractor/exhausts in the rear. My PSU also pulls air through via a 120mm fan in the bottom of it, just not sure which way the air is going with that one. :D

Read the review yourself. Seems pretty fair to me. Same case, same inlet temps. Not a bad methodology tbh.

# in-take temperature was measured at 23°C for all tests, but temp fluctuations, different mounting and user error can account up to 1-3°C of inaccuracy in the obtained results. Please keep this in mind when looking at the results. Each heatsink was tested repeatedly; if I got questionable results the test was restarted.
# The VGA card was stressed by running Real-Time HDR continuously until temperatures.
# Arctic Silver kindly send us their “Lumière” thermal testing compound which has the same color as Ceramique, but only a break in time of 30min!
# Arctic Silver’s ArctiClean was used to clean off thermal paste between tests.

sorry, my mistake. I assumed the X2 was the same as the NV silencer pushing the air out the back. This is not the case however.

Looks like i'll get the zalman.

I've been on this forum all day and am shattered. Looking forward to tomorrow when I buy my new graphics card and fan :-) not looking forward to the drive tho :-(
