Is this going to be a big improvement over the VF 700 seires though?
I mean the heat pipes are nice but the VF700 series more than do their job.
Even on silent setting.

When I say struggled... it would reach 75C, which coming from a 9700pro was roasting... but compared to my X1800XT - well thats normal :p
But er yeah... better suited to a full case me thinks :}

Whoah, my XL barely goes past 50*C with the fan at 5V :eek: you sure you had it mounted correctly?!

VF900 looks like a tweaked VF700, but the price tag is damn high... hopefully it will come down in price, or they will release a cheaper AlCu version!

ive just bought the accelero x2 but aint attached yet, whats the new zalman gonna be like compared to this? if better ill just seel my accel on ebay or feed it to the hounds!

The Zalman will be quieter on 5v mode as the accelero series seems to be quite loud.

As far as I can see the VF900 series seems to be smaller than the VF700 which fins reach way past the cards PCB.

So maybe the VF900 will leave more room for alternative chipset coolers especially for those running Nforce4 boards where the chipset seems to be near the PCI-E lane all the time.

The Zalman won't have a 5v mode as such, it comes with its own fan controller so you can set it at what ever speed you want.

I think, regardless of how it looks, its the same size. Defo the same height (3cm) and if its using the same sized fan, I dont see why it wont be the same width.

the 900 is smaller @ 96x96x30, the 700 is 91x126x30 so might help if tight on space.

Still bigger than the PCB by the looks of it:

So this Vf700 is a pretty good cooler in other words?
Looking at alternative cooling for my coming X1800XT, perhaps this would be it then? :)

These coolers are excelent. They give VGA watercooling a good run for their money. I can see these things selling rather quickly.

Me though,... think Ill stck with my trusty VF700 which has cooled a 6600GT, X800XTPE and will be cooling a 7600GT. :).

King.
