Ok so Ive just go my GFX card, installed it and everything's installed properly.. Boot my system up, and the LCD poster goes past cpu, ram detection and then my mobo just shuts off but the onboard power + restart lights are still lit whilat the LCD poster just stops on "VGA BIOS".

This is strange since I just installed my new GFX card :S

Any ideas?

Ok, yes all power cables are connected ok..

Monitor stays on standby and my GFX card is:

Gecube HD 3870 XT Overclocked Edition 512MB GDDR4

Ahh please guys, if ANYONE knows please reply :(

It's my first build, Ive spent A LOT on it, and Im eager to get it running.. you know what it's like right?

I just cant understand why it isnt working.. :(

Motherboard runs for about 7 seconds until the "VGA BIOS" is displayed, it then cuts out leaving the power and reboot onboard buttons and the SupremeFX sound card lit. Then about 2 seconds after than it suddenly tries to start for 1 second.. the PSU LED's flash once and thats it.. Reboot + power lights still lit along with sound card. Nothing else.

Also.. "VGA BIOS" isnt even in the back of the motherboard manual under the debug codes :S

Ok thanks for your reply, I REALLY appreciate it..

Ok my mainboard is: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=572&l4=0&model=1889&modelmenu=1

This is the only GFX card, I received it today and this is what has been happening.. I was thinking it was a faulty mobo as I tried a really old PCI GFX card and the same thing happened.

DVI cable is from the GFX card to the monitor.. nothing else.. The mobo doesn't have onboard GFX.

Many thanks,

Adam

Nope, the lights on keyboard + mouse dont light up at all.. However the USB hub LED's that they are connected via do.. (Reason I used USB HUB was to see if there was power to them). So Im guessing the mobo is faulty?

GFX are BRAND NEW today.. And when I boot system, the monitor goes black and then when pc auto cuts out.. the monitor goes back to standby.. (mobo cuts out after about 7 seconds with "VGA BIOS")

Ok, I've RMA'd it since no further help could be given.

Many thanks to those that tried to help me. If you do however have any more suggestions, I am willing to try them :D
