I just bought a gender changer adapter for a vga cable and have now realised what I purchased is the most pointless device ever. It was supposed to change a male end to a female end but it doesn't. It's male at one end and female at the other so obviously when I plug the female side into the male cable I end up with just another male end.

To change a male to a female would require an adapter female at both ends so what's the point in this thing?

So I'm necro'ing this thread, as I've had the same thing at work and it's been amusing me for months. The most pointless device ever, as it doesn't change anything. The only thing it would do would be to protect the original device connector it was attached to, and introduce more interference (resistance?) on the line.

I think someone in the factory was drunk.
