VGA Only Monitors?

I would like to upgrade from my 21.5" lcd hp ss231a monitor to a LED as I have used a LED monitor and the vibrancy and colours are much better.

I was wondering, are vga only monitors any good? My thinking is I can save some money (the monitor I'm using isnt very old) by just getting a monitor that only has a vga, and I'm only going to be using it with my pc and I have a dvi to vga adapter.

I was looking at 1920x1080 monitors such as the LG E2242C.

Is a VGA monitor like this one going to have the same quality image as my current HP s2231a?

Thanks.

The difference between using a VGA input and one of the digital alternatives is minimal. The type and quality of the actual panel matters far more.

How much would you actually be saving? Unless it's significant I'd buy something with a digital input for future flexibility.
