I'm not sure what to do here, I have two PC monitors that have been given to me. Which to choose.

1) 19" 1600x900 HP S2031a with DVI and VGA connectors
2) 22" 1680x1050 HP L2208w with VGA connector

I think everyone will say choose the bigger screen as there is not much difference between VGA and DVI at the end of the day. The PC I'm using has no dedicated GPU currently, just a Haswell Core i3-4150 CPU. I might look at getting a 1050Ti card but that's unlikely to have a VGA connector making monitor 2 unusable.

Thoughts, please.

Are you sure the HP L2208W is 1680x1050? The HP website says it only supports up to 1440x900. Assuming you're right though, the extra resolution would generally be preferable to a digital connection for me, but it depends how good it looks. Only having a VGA input is a red flag as to the quality of the monitor, IMO, so it might be better to stick with the other one anyway.

I think you need a GPU with a DVI-I port for compatibility with VGA. Not sure if HDMI works.

Yeah, the HP website is inaccurate. I made a mistake in the fact monitor 1 is in fact 20" but the website says it should have HDMI and internal speakers, which it doesn't. And I'm currently using monitor 2 so it's definitely 1680x1050. :)

Going to go for the smaller screen I think. The DVI connector will come in more handy.
