Have a Zotac 9300ITX + Ati 4870
What I want to do is output video from the 4870 via VGA (DVI-VGA Adapter) and audio via HDMI fromthe mobo or graphics card.
Both HDMI Audio Devices show in Vista Sound Audio Devices
Plugging cable into mobo and I still get not connected message, amp reads HDMI/Stereo/PCM but no sound, guess mobo HDMi does not work with External ATi card, maybe nvidia but not ATI
Now with the 4870 to get hdmi audio you need to use the dvi-hdmi adapter, but you have to output video and audio through this you can't output sound through this and video from secondary DVI-I conector, so I am stuck
I tried using Dual Display, i.e 1st Output=4870-DVI-HDMI - AMP -HDMI- Projector, 2nd Output=4870-DVI-VGA-Projector, but it wasn't having any of it...
Reason I use VGA is because my PJ does not like video from PC via Digital as colours are messed up, Native HDMI or VGA is fine, but not DVI Out
