Can you buy waterblocks for graphics card memory?

It's been running without heatsinks since I got it, but it's now starting to get artifacts even when it idles. I tried fitting zalman ramsinks but there seemed to be some kind of EMI between the ramsinks and the soundcard which stopped the computer booting.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to sort this problem out?

You can get quite a few full gfx card blocks that cool the GPU and RAM. DangerDen, Aquacomputer, Alphacool, EK waterblocks all do them. They are pretty expensive though and very heavy, some like the alphacool are also quite restrictive and reduce waterflow.

If the card didnt come with heatsinks and you are not overclocking the mem then you shouldnt need to cool it. I would say they are faulty as well. :(

The card (leadtek 6800gt) did come with a heatsink for both core and memory. I took it off to water cool the core though. It's lasted about 6 months without any heatsinks on the RAM, until now :(

I've ordered an alphacool vga block, so i'm going to see how I get on with that. Might be able to get a decent memory overclock with it :)

Ramsinks are alright, but cooling the memory makes little/no difference unless you are voltmodding the Ram - sounds like an RMA :(

And just in case you feel you 'have' to cool your memory, I found this:

Yes - that is phase cooled ram on his GFX card - and what was the gain - 1Mhz

GDDR stock cooling - decent overclock
no ramsinks - -10mhz overclock
Watercooling - nothing extra
Phase - 1mhz

lol

lol, phase cooling the vga ram is a bit extreme

I've whacked a great big fan over the ram for the moment and it doesn't artifact anymore, so I guess it must be getting slightly hot. it has felt a bit humid in my house today. I started overclocking the core a couple of weeks ago, so maybe that is finally taking it's toll on the ram?
