i have just bought a monitor (BenQ 27") which came with a vga lead. My 6990 does not have a vga port and sold my DVI lead with my old monitor, so I used a vga- dvi adaptor. Will this be as good as a DVI cable or should i purchase one?

Thanks

The adapter is just the same as using a VGA connector so you get the same analogue signal.

You may find DVI to DVI (which is digital) offers better quality, some monitors are better with analogue signals than others.

Assuming this is only a 1080/1200p monitor, and not 120Hz, then you just need a standard DVI lead (dual link isn't needed).

Thanks for that. I am not too impressed with the picture in gaming tbh. I have been playing PES (which is locked at 60 fps) and there is a slight flickering in the background and a bit of motion blur on the ball at times. Could this be due to the VGA signal of is it normal in a 27in monitor?
The monitor is the BenQgl2750
thanks
