VGA to DVI-I?

hi,

i've got on order a new tv and a computer to use as a media center. i've just realised that my output from the pc is VGA, and the tv has DVI-I input. is there a way to connect my pc to the tv with the connection i have already, or will i have to buy a graphics card with a DVI output?

don't suppose you could recommend a cheap PCI or PCI-E card that would be suitable for a media center, maybe even HD compatable?

Technically you can get from VGA to DVI converters, but they are more expensive than a new mid-range graphics card with the outputs already integrated.

You can buy a VGA to DVI convertor. Or a DVI to VGA convertor. Shop around. They can be had.

thanks for the tip, but if im gonna have to fork out again for anything, i think i may as well get a gpu with a dvi output on it. can you recommend a good one for MCE with HD compatability?
