Firstly, do they exist and if so, do they increase quality of picture in both display and games?

Got 5770 btw.

HMDI*

Thanks

We have a VGA to HDMI adapter for our projector. They're around £50 but the quality of the picture is good. Google for a "HDfury 1080P HDMI to VGA Converter Transcoder".

Are you trying to connect your graphics card to a VGA monitor/projector? If so, just use a DVI to VGA converter - you may have got one with your 5770. If not, google "DVI male VGA female" there should be loads for under a tenner.

yeah i currently have VGA to DVI, just wondered if VGA to HDMI would be better, thats if they existed to start with.

There are 3 differnt kinds of DVI "adapters"

DVI-I which outputs on both digital and analogue, and that you have on most graphics cards, and thats why you can plug a dvi to vga or dve to HDMI and it'll work (not both to go from hdmi to vga though)

DVI-D which is ONLY digital

DVI-A Which is ONLY analogue.

And I think theres a new on coming out that supports sound, Much like HDMI 2.1 *shrugs* but am not to sure wtf is going on there.

No there are six:

DVI-D (digital only) - Dual and Single link
DVI-A (analog only) - Dual and Single link
DVI-I (integrated, digital & analog)
M1-DA (integrated, digital, analog plus USB signal) which is what you maybe thinking of

Are you 100% sure?

I've got a HDfury being used to convert HDMI (Pioneer DVD Player) to VGA (2x6500 lumen projectors) and I'm pretty sure it said it could only work this way round (digital to analogue) but you're saying it can do analogue to digital too?
