Vista doesnt allow me to install any drivers for hardware and when i install a program such as Magix music maker it wont allow me to run it and it tells me that because it wasnt installed by an administrator - I am the only user and administrator. Tried switching off UAC but that doesnt change things.

Any ideas - Please keep it simple as I'm only just starting out in the home build stuff.

ANY drivers? Vista 64 doesn't let you install unsigned drivers - are you sure you're not generalising?

Have you tried installing that program with UAC off, or running the installation as administrator if not turned off?

(you said you'd turned it off at some point, but didn't say when),
 
Thats true its not all drivers the biggest problem is the X1950 pro drivers. But I'm still having problems installing other software such as the one I mentioned.

I turned of UAC prior to any installation as that has been mentioned - I even reinstalled the OS thinking that may help.
