No, I'm not a filthy spammer, but this is a stiff challenge!

We keep getting emails sent to our users apparently 'from' the users with details on how they can save up to 80% on Viagra.

Now, my own personal desire to save 80% aside, I can't add the domains to the block list because it seems to be generating from our users.

Example:

Max (email address, [email protected]) receives email from [email protected]

How can I sort this out as we can't keep this up :o

I guess I need to fire up Outlook and review the full headers but that could be time consuming

Simple (and most effective) solution, add your own internal domains to the "sender filtering" in the edge transport part of exchange 2010. If you haven't got an edge transport server you can enable the anti-spam filters on your hub transport server (by using an EMS script which I forget the details of, google it).

Exchange doesn't check internal > internal mail, and assuming you don't have a split-authority domain with a non-exchange server sat outside your organization handling mail, you should never be sending "from" your domain, to exchange from the outside world.

Result = all inbound spoofed mail is checked, and your internal mail flow isn't affected.

Exactly what I was after. Ledge!

I already have the anti-spam tab on the HTS from the 2K7 box so thats coolies.
