Viao Boot ?

I am trying to fix a laptop for my uncle, his hard drive crashed so he bought a preloaded new one and put it in. xp loads up and then get lsass.exe before it reaches the log on screen.

Any idea what the problem actually is? i have searched for lsass.exe and it is apparently a log on service.

My question is, how can it be fixed? if not... what is the button to access the boot menu on vaio? it seems to be hidden!

Check the Viao instruction manual for the button to the boot menu.

Id say a hard drive with a proloaded version of XP is generally a bad idea unless it was specificly made for that model laptop. Your best bet is to get an XP disk and install it using the license key afixed to the bottom of the laptop on the COA.

I reloaded it and it worked for a few restarts, then it started coming up with insufficient memory, i think there i a more major problem there. I have replaced the Ram but that didn't seem to work. It has 1gb, which for xp should be more than plenty!
