I'm just about to start putting together my new rig, and would like to know if there were any specific components that would benefit from a bit of dampening.
I'm using an Antec P150 case, and have already dampened the rear 120mm fan and the twin 92mm intake fans, but I've got a load of Silica Gel washers that I could use and wondered where I should be looking to use this, or even if I should be using them at all. They're just hanging around at the moment and I'd hate to waste them.
I'd guess that the optical drive mountings would benefit from a bit of dampening, but is a tiny little gel washer going to make any difference whatsoever, or is it likely to be all in the mind? Should I be whacking washers onto anything I can screw down, or avoiding them like the plague?
