Vibration when wipers are on

This may seem wierd, but I noticed yesterday when in traffic raining, that whenever the wipers sweeped the screen, I could feel the mechanics though the clutch/brake pedals. Its really wierd, I lifted the wipers off the screen and I could still feel it. Its a new BMW Mini, anyone else experienced this?

the car used to shake when i had the wipers on full speed in my 206 - but that was on classic french unset jelly suspension...
