Why is it always these headcase asians that seem to get these engineering samples before anyone else?
i'd take a stab in the dark and say theres perhaps a big intel factory there :p

While most of intels FAB's are in the USA, the fabs only produce the finished wafers. These are then shipped out to intels assembly/testing factories to be assembled into their final packages. All of these assembly factories are located outside the USA. 2 in china, 1 Costa Rica, 2 Malaysia, 1 Philippines.

They do have one 'development assembly' factory in USA, which I imagine is the primary source of Engineering samples.

Most Intel processors destined for Europe seem to be assembled in Costa Rica, Malaysia, and Philippines, or at least I've yet to see an intel chip stamped with China personally.

But yep, with 2 assembly factories in china, its a fair bet that its the easiest of the factories to get unofficial engineering samples from there.

i want one, would like to know what cooler he has on that bad boy. Temps must be through the roof as hes overclocking. I Like it :D

They would be through the roof if it was 8 cores in one processor, but as its 2 x quad core cpu's it will be like any other quad core temp.
