I wasn't sure where this should be posted, so please feel free to move to the correct forum.

I am with vidahost for my site hosting. I have been setting up my vidahost domain email accounts in outlook 2007.

It is all working fine however I have 2 issues, I am using the IMAP SSL configuration. When I start outlook it displays a message box stating:

Internet Security Warning

The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified.
The target principal name is incorrect.
Do you want to continue using this server?

If I click yes, everything is fine and I can continue as intended, however it's a bit annoying! How can I solve this? Do I need to setup some certificate on my domain or install the certificate on my PC?

Also, when I am viewing my emails in outlook, if I delete an email, the email doesn't go anywhere! It sites there with a line through it, not moving to the Trash folder and it seems to be undeletable other than outlook placing a line through it!

Any help would be appreciated, as it has me very confused!

Thanks.

I don't know about the Outlook/Deletion issue, but I have been getting weird certificate messages like yourself upon accessing my domain email on my iPhone. It has only started happening over the past week though.

For SSL on email you need to use the server's hostname as the incoming/outgoing mailserver - I think you've just emailed us though :)

Haha yes I did!

I had it set to geneva.footholds.net but outlook seems to now have changed it too mail.*mydomain name*.co.uk

However the second account I added is still set to geneva.footholds.net

Apparently this strick off business is part of the IMAP and outlook 2007 idea, and to delete the emails you have to purge them! Stupid if you ask me.
