Video call option is greyed out in contacts.

Anyone know how to un-grey this? My Mother want to make video calls now she has her first smartphone, but for some reason I can't make a video call as the button is greyed out (it's the same in all my contacts). I'm on a Realme X2 running Android 10 and Vodafone say it's nothing to do with my plan.

Any ideas?

Has the camera got permission in the messaging app ?

Are you sure the problem is not potentially on her end? Made sure her data is enabled and working?

Yes, it has permission to use the camera.

Yeah, all fine on her end. Data is enabled and her video call button is active, rather than greyed out.

So she can make videos calls to other people just fine, but you can't?

Just in case it might be Realme's phone/contacts app messing up, try Google's:
