Hi

Is the lowest tier BT internet ok for video calls, in particular zoom conference calls.

The BT speed is the 7mb - 16mb, upload 1mb.

It's rubbish but its temporary until I transfer it to another property, just need to be sure that would be fine for video calls.

Thanks

The upload on ADSL is going to be a struggle for sending video from your side if you're trying to do anything else at the same time. I'd be inclined to see how 4G performs before installing ADSL.

I'd go for more than 1 mbit/sec up if available, on a 1mbit/sec upload on DSL then usable bandwidth will only be about 750-800 kbit/sec actually usable which is a bit pish.

Zoom recommends 800 kbps minimum for video, double that for gallery view, double that for sending 1080p. Teams is similar.

Worst is that you'll be inflicting bandwidth starvation on the upstream as soon as you do anything download-y. Things will just get much more sluggish and you'll end up having to turn off video all the time to use the connection reasonably while in a conference.
