video capture for youtube gaming twaddle

request from my son to start putting his gaming videos (console) on youtube along with a picture in picture and commentary from his good self.


can anyone suggest a reasonably inexpensive hardware or selection of hardware to get him started?


mainly PS4 capture although the ability to do xb1 and possibly pc at a future date would be handy.
 
Do you need a full PC spec or just the capture hardware?

You'll need a capture card, mic and webcam plus a PC or laptop to capture to. Decent spec kit would be a Logitech C920, Blue Snowball and HD Capture card (I use an Elgato, Overclockers only seem to stock Avermedia now so I can't comment on how they are to use!)
 
Any thoughts on what I would need cpu wise ?


Got a couple of rigs I can use

Would a quad core Devils canyons be up to it for 1080p
