Video capture question

I need to capture and edit video from an old camcorder. I have a capture device and necessary cables, but I need to know if Premiere rush allows capture from capture devices or do I need a full blown product like PP?

I like DV Resolve, but it doesn’t have a capture function.

Are you capturing over firewire?

This is probably the best option, it's old but should work with firewire and Windows 10.

Yes, I will be fitting a FireWire card. Someone else has recommended I use a program called VirtualDub to capture the video. Is that good?

Ah yes I forgot about VirtualDub, that's good too. You're just capturing the DV data from the tape so anything that can capture that will be fine. You can then import the captured file into Resolve.
