I'm looking for some kind of video capture card which would allow my brother to plug in his video camera. I guess it would need some kind of input like S-video, composite or something like that which I can then easily connect the video camera too.

Any ideas or suggestions of models?

If its a newer camera then its likely to support DV/DVI. If so, his motherboard may have had an add in that can take up one of the PCI slots and provide a firewire and DVI in plus a few more USB ports.

This could be totally useless info.. But it's there for you if you need it. ;)

it's a reasonably old video camera, not digital, based on mini tapes so dont think it has that connection sadly.

Is it a camera that you would plug into a TV normally?

I have one of them and use a Leadtek Win TV 2000 Expert to connect it up.

3 coloured cables, red yellow and white?

It has a breakout that plugs into a silly port at the back, got different cables that plugs into it for S video or the 3 colours.

This its a standard feature on most TV cards that let you capture from an external device.

If you can not find one drop me an email. :)
