been while since i asked anything here !!

am building a PC running MCE, and i need some advice for the best Gfx card to run on it, it doesnt need to have uber amounts of poke (although some would be nice, as i fancy playing Doom III on my 42" screen) I am looking for advice on a card that has good scaling/post processing abilities, and can handle Blue-Ray input, upscale DVD's (ffdshow?) and most importantly, can improve on the quality of DivX files etc.

many thanks for any replies

i think the ati 3xxx series will be your best bet if the main use is media.

try the 3600s as a minimum requirement or maybe a 3850 or 3870 if budget allows

they have built in decoders for hd stuff according to the ocuk site but they dont fair as well as *** nvidia cards for gaming sorry i cant explain better

Passively cooled 3000 series ATI cards own all when it comes to HTPC!

onboard video decoding, audio over HDMI, and they are basically just hands down better than nVidia at it.

You might want to consider a 780G based system as the graphics in that can handle BluRay output.

Is essentially an ATI 3000 series gpu on the motherboard.
