Hi Guys,

Been trying to get a confirmed answer on this for blooming ages.

I want to buy a video card for my HTPC that will allow me to hook it up to my living room AND bedroom concurrently so I can watch movies from XBMC in either room in HD and with surround sound all over HDMI.

The obvious solution looks to be to get a card with a HDMI and Display Port connector on it but I've heard that you need some fancy active doo dar in order to get the display port to work which I do not understand :(

Somebody please help me!

Thanks

It can be done but tbh it tends to be...more pain than its worth.
I've got a GT220 with a HDMI slot and DVI, it seems with a DVI-HDMI cable it'll actually carry audio, which is....not what I've come to expect, but this means you can route it seperately. The trick becomes getting the system to reliably mirror the screens, without other issues (like tearing) creeping in, not to mention it'll see two seperate audio outputs.
I use XBMC as well, and tbh, I really couldnt be bothered with the hassle!
