Video card crashes when installing driver.

I was just browsing the web when my screen went white and froze, i restarted P. C. and it would just hang black just before the login.

I had to boot with Integrated video to uninstall the drivers to my 7970 , then booted back with the 7970 to reinstall the drivers.

HAlf way through installing the latest Crimson at the point when the screen changes modes/flickers , it hangs , does this every time with any driver.

And now my integrated wont work just says " cable unplugged " might not be related .

Tried swapping 7970 to the 8x PCIE slot and same thing.

So now i'm using the 7970 with generic Microsoft drivers, it works ok like this, browsing , 2d games. HD video etc

Not sure what to rule out. it could be MOBO, card , PSU

Ah just seen you tried any diffrent Drivers, list your system spec please.

I got it sorted about 30 mins ago, it was MSI Afterburner conflicting witht he bloody install of the drivers, thanks for the reply. All sorted now. thank god, i thought i'd have to shell out for more hardware.
