About a month ago i bought myself a Gainward ATI Radeon 4870 512mb Golden Sample, i sent one back to overclockers because it was going pixely flickering and going blank. I got another one and now its just flickering and going blank. I've reformated now and its still doing the same thing. It seems to do it when your in a middle of a game or when theres a lot of graphic detail. It flickers for a while then the screen just goes totally blank. The Temp sits at 55C-65C. I've tryed a Sapphire ati radeon 2900xt on Crysis @ VERY HIGH and max resolution yes its very slot but i played the demo right threw without any flickering or blank screen.

CPU: Intel Quad core @ 2.83ghz 12mb cache
Motherboard:P5E3 Premium/WiFi-AP@n
Memory:OCZ 1066 1333mhz DDR3
PSU: 1000w Antec
 
Hi i just got same card this week, and now my card has started doing same thing, screen goes blank during game, as you said seens as a lot happens on screen , it just goes blank for 5 seconds then comes back on. i also had a problem running 3dmark06, after first test ran, the second test was just a screen of flickering pixels, then error report came up :/ temps are 45 c idle.
Also in catalyst the current clock values change from 750 to 500 then back again, is this normal?? as ive never used ati before??

i just spoke to OC.CO.UK tech . and he said the clock values change then card switches in 2d mode, but has given me rma to send it back.
I played farcry 2 and screen goes blank every 15 seconds, and feels really laggy.
I only fitted the card wednesday night, and was really good, and really happy with it, untill last night ,then this porblem started
 
I sent my first card out and they replaced it when i sent the 2nd one back out they sent me it back saying nothing was wrong with it but im still getting problems with it...... need help....
 
Contacted overclockers getting a refund this will be the third time now. I would get a refund as i've already had 2 new cards and they do the exact same thing

ive posted before about bad / corrupt .NET 2.0 installs ...go to MS downloads and re-download it again....then run as a repair then reboot to see if it helps any...hope it does.

I just ran 3dmark06 again, and have random black/blank screen during first few tests, then screen went blank, monitor flashed up no singal, then came back on, screen went black, then pure white , had to reset pc as it locked out :/

Omg, is this just bad luck or what??, i had a new gainward 4870 golden sample 2 weeks ago, after 2 days i had a problem with the screen going blank while playing games, spoke to OCUK, and had rma for replacement, posted back thrusday, recieved email friday saying card faulty replacement in the post, ( Thx OCUK for really quick turn around).
Friday night some scum bags break into my house and help themselves to everything they can get there hands on (plasma/ps3/wii/22" monitor) lucky i still had tower :(
Monday new card arrives, but no screen to use, untill tonight after i borrow a spare from a m8.
Fit new card to find , no singal from card, fans spin up ok just no signal.
Refit old card all is fine, so replace 4870 again but flick the turbo switch on back plate, and all seems fine , pc boots up, install drivers ect, run some benchies, then try to play some games. only to find that games and benchmarks run all jerky and laggy and totaly unplayable. Try the switch back in normal mode (non overclock) and no signal from card again.
There was me thinking the 4870 was one of the cards to have. but i just seem to get faulty ones, is this a common problem with 4870's or just the end of a really bad week ???
