Video Card thermal Paste?

Hi all

I have a 3rd party cooler coming tomorrow for my GTX 480,my question is how much thermal paste is needed when fitting coolers to GPUs compared to a CPU?

Im guessing i will need to apply 2-3 times more tim than what you apply to say a i7 cpu chip?

Any help would be great as ive never fitted a GPU cooler so im not sure.

Use just enough to form a thin layer as you would with a CPU.

Just enough for a thin layer as normal. The GPU heatspreader is slightly larger than your CPU one, so adjust accordingly. Just spread the TIM out thinly before putting the heatsink on.
