Does any body know of any free or under £200 video compression software?

Whats are you going to be using it for? £200 is a lot to spend on software for a home video camera.
You could use Windows Movie Maker but its not that advanced, however it is free.

I have 6, 200mb AVI files that I want to convert to MPEG for streaming on a website.

I would use Windows Movie Maker but it seems to have disappeared on me :S

Yeah that's what I thought. But after looking, I can't seem to find any trial/freeware versions that doesn't place a watermark over the video.
