Hi there, basically I have some avi files that I want to play on the 360, but it doesn't support the codec they're using (DivX 3.0 I think)

I need to convert them to one of these:

Supported Video Xbox 360 Codecs:

- DivX 5.0.5 (DX50)
- MPEG-1
- WMV3 (HD)
- XviD 1.0.0
- XviD 1.0.2
- XviD 1.0.3
- XviD 1.1.0 Beta 1
- XviD ISO MPEG-4

It seems impossible to find anything that'll do this, any suggestions?

Unfortunately I don't have my 360 on my network, I have it connected straight to my computer, and connect 360 doesn't support a direct connection :(

I don't think it'd work if the codec isn't supported anyway, would it?

VisualHub should happily transcode it into any format you desire.. though I have not tested it on a 360. There site claims support and it works for everything else I have thrown at it.

Nice one, it looks promising, I'll try it and report back.

Cheers.

Edit: nevermind, the trial only supports 2 minute conversions :(

And I can't "acquire" the full version ;)

in fact with the current exchange rate its not even £12 :( - if it was ridiculously overpriced i could understand you're scheming ways but come on guys, thats the price of like a few drinks for a TOP piece of software…

saying that, i used to "acquire" virtually everything on the pc so i can't really talk, but since moving over to the light side everything on my system is legitimate, even CS3 master  - not sure why, maybe its a psychological thing, mac developers seem to deserve it more or something :p

If you're going to use it for personal gain, or on a day to day basis (for work and such) then you should buy it regardless.
