Video Conversion Problems

I'm converting a couple of DVDs for personal use to my ipod but when I complete a conversion and play it back I get this dreadful popping sound through the film. I'm currently using Videora.

Any ideas why this keeps happening?

try handbrake its free and comes with profiles for encoding to formats for ipod/iphone/ipad etc
