Video converting/editing. 50fps to 25fps or 24.

I have a Panasonic HC-V500 camcorder which records at 1080p and 50 fps.

I don't see the point of 50fps and is unnecessary and is also slow to play back, specially on laptops when i stream it wirelessly from the main PC.

I have Sony Vegas which i use to do basic editing and set the output to 25fps, but because the input is 50fps I think it just makes everything slow to work on.

Is there a program that does the converting to 25fps before i start working on it in Vegas or windows movie maker.

I've not used it, but I'm pretty sure Vegas, as NLE software can do just what you want it to do.

Prelude will do it, MPEG Streamclip (free), and almost all NLE software will do it in the options somewhere. If you can get Prelude it's a dream to use. MPEG Streamclip though will do what you need, it's just a bit fiddly.
