Periodically when I watch youtube or other video in Google Chrome I get a crash. I can still hear audio but everything else freezes. No way to go into task manager and end chrome - the only option is a complete shutdown.

It keeps happening and is driving me crazy! Particularly as I was just watching the offspring at rock in rio. I've tried switching to html5 for youtube and removing the skype add in extension. I have adblock plus beta - could that be causing this?

Running windows 7 and latest version of chrome.

I'm also running Adblock Plus Beta.

Latest GPU driver? Do you have any other extensions & add-ons installed?

No, that's it. It's an old Lenovo thinkpad so think my graphics updates come from windows (all updates applied). Not likely to be a recent GPU driver for this model.

I did read something about hardware acceleration - maybe my laptop can't cope?

Nope, I suppose (shudder) I could use IE. It's one of those intermittent things and fairly sure it's something to do with video. I'll try re-installing chrome too.

Lenovo don't use windows update - they put stuff out on their own website. You have to check yourself or or use their update utility.

I just use the official amd ones. Lenovo seem to put out graphics updates every 6 months or so.
