Full build for a friend to use for video editing.

I put a basket together 5 months ago, and noticed that some of the components are actually more expensive now then then! Strange.

Anyway, budget is £750, and i failed.
I couldn't even fit in a CPU cooler.

Here is the updated basket:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £263.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614) £77.99
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £74.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £61.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST2000DM001) HDD £56.99
2 x TeamGroup Elite Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TPKD38G1600HC11DC01) £55.99 (£111.98)

1 x BitFenix Neos ATX Tower Black/Red £29.99
1 x LG GH24NSB0 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £13.99
Total : £780.89 (includes shipping : £12.50).

A few notes:
- I want an Asus or Gigabyte motherboard so he has the option to turn this into a hackintosh in future
- I COULD scrimp on the SSD and HDD to fit the budget, but it would be nice not to have to
- Is windows 8.1 the one to go for over 7?
- He already has a GPU (7970)
- He will be using Powerdirector 11 to edit - which supports openCL

Does anyone have any ideas on components i can substitute in to save a bit of money?
- maybe the non-K CPU :/

Separate CPU+Board+RAM and going fopr the non K option I think is your only chance of getting the price down.

i'll speak to him about the budget, as i'm keen for him to get the K version.
thanks for looking though!

Considering he has a GPU do they have a parts from a previous build/computer/laptop, that they could re use?

his current PC is very old any the only thing(s) that might be reusable is a HDD and DVD drive, although his might be IDE, not SATA. haven't checked.
Besides, he said he still wants a new HDD anyway.

The GPU he already has he's bought for this build - it's not coming from an old PC unfortunately.

thought the warranty would be in his name as he's the one who would have paid for the items. your account just enabled free shipping.
