Video Editing Laptop for £1000

Hi there,

I need a new laptop - 15 inches only! I had a Dell XPS M1730M, but it went wrong. I don't want a new one because it's too damn big.

I don't really play games (though I bought Far Cry 2 and have spent an hour here and there on it), but I do a lot of video work which I film in full HD. Even the XPS M1730 wouldn't play it smoothly when running on battery.

Looking to spend £1000, but will stretch if it's worth it.

AlienWare m15x?
Dell m1530?

Ditch Vegas and get a MAcbook with Adobe Premier/After effects.
Vegas pales in comparison.

Sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about.

I use Vegas on an XPS M1530 (C2D 2.5Ghz, 4GB RAM), performs great. Laptop is worth just short of £1,000 but cost me £650 on Dell outlet, so have a look on there first.

i do video editing i use macbook pro ok there over the 1000 but final cut pro and the adobe stuff makes it worth it
