My daughter is now 3, and we have hundreds of phone and camera videos that I would like to condense to something more manageable.
At the least, I would like to join groups of videos together to make longer clips.
I am also contemplating getting a bit more creative and cutting small segments of the videos, joining them and adding some music, much like Google photos does, but with more control.

Free would be better, but I don't mind paying for something decent.

Movie maker seems flaky in windows 10. Anything similar but slightly more powerful? Google brings up too many options.

Suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Windows movie maker is crash happy on anything (most likely) beyond windows 7, and should only be used for gluing footage together to make a single file.

As for any of the other free options, I wouldn't recommend hitfilm because of their practices before you can download it and DaVinci Resolve only works with open CL capable graphics cards and doesn't work with certain video file types and there is one other whos name escapes me for the moment that requires a powerhouse of a PC.
