Well, SSD for OS and just to make PC that bit more responsive - will also help loading times with Vegas (if you don't want it, take it out and save £71 :p)

Gone with two HDDs, one for seek and one for write, read it's supposed to help render times, if not RAID0 will make them faster and give you more space :)

EDIT: If you need OS, swap SSD out for W7 Home Premium OEM :)

Where's the graphics card? :p I thought you could only use the Intel Intergrated Graphics with a H67 motherboard? But you can't overclock a i7 2600k on a H67 board. I don't think a graphics card will make a difference in the speed of encoding your HD files so go for a cheap graphics card.

I highly recommend overclocking the i7 2600k. You can buy a good CPU cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler for £20 and I'm fairly sure you can overclock to at least 4.5 Ghz which will give you a good speed boost when encoding video's. Oh and I don't think you would need a SSD for your needs needs, you might aswell stick with one fast HDD and if you need a OS then use the money to buy Windows 7 instead.

Won't some sort of graphics card be needed?

Depends on your budget, I have the Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case which cost me £30 and it's good quality for the price. You can install 3 fans aswell if you require some extra cooling.

Regarding the GPU, if it's purely for video encoding and you don't want to go over your budget then just go for:

MSI GeForce 8400GS 512MB SILENT GDDR3 "Low Profile" PCI-Express Graphics Card - £30

OcUK GeForce GT 430 1024MB GDDR3 Low Profile PCI-Express Graphics Card - £56

Literally the cheapest graphics cards on OCuk. But then again it won't matter as you don't plan to play games on this system :p

Nice edit there after I posted about a graphics card ;)

Depends on how much you got left and what you like the look, case is more personal preference I think. What about:

Coolermaster Elite 430 Windowed Case - Black £33.98

Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £49.99

Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case with Fan Controller - Black £44.99

Couple of choices there. Have a look through OcUK's cases and write down any you like and someone will be able to give you advantages/disadvantages of each one.
