Video Editing Rig.

Hi Folks,

I'm currently in the search for a new pc for video editing as programs like Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere are getting a little too resource heavy with all the plug-in suites I have; I would like to try Intel this time rather than my current AMD setup. I have about 750.00 - 800.00 to play around with, I already have a monitor and all other required peripherals and I like to play games the odd time too so I would like a nice graphics card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

I do a lot of video editing and at the time i bought my machine the Pentium D930 was "the thing". To be honest these days for video editing you will want to go Core 2 with intels ( as i am sure you already know

).

Personally i would suggest a medium spec conroe ( the 2.44 Ghz version ?!? ). A fair chunk of fairly fast RAM. and might i suggest the GeForce 7900GTO that OcUK sell as it would beat up most games and help with previewing live effects for a fairly low price.

Hi, Just building a new rig myself for exactly the same thing. I do a lot of underwater video work and also run adobe orem pro and a/e. I went on advice from here and very helpfull it was too. I went for an Intel core 2 duo E6600, Asus P5B Deluxe, 2 G/Bit 800MHZ RAM, Arctic Cooler 7, Sapphire x1600xt, 2 Seagate 250 gig 16 mb cach sata for speed as when rendering and encoding need drives to be as fast as possable. I didnt spend a lot of mony on a graphics card as I dont play games and dont need a lot for editing. hope this helps.

Similar here. AW9D-MAX. 6600. Corsair 2Gb. WD 250G. Maxtor 400G

EXCEPT ..... I made the mistake of seeing the OcUK 7900GTO listed with Video IN and ordered it for that occasional time when copy from analog is needed. It's now pretty clear it isn't

[ But OCs ad still says it does !! ]

Can now seriously consider multiple simultaneous effects and it complete rendering in the same day !!
