Hi all,

Haven't had time to look into this properly yet but thought i'd post on here to get some initial feedback.

What piece of video editing software would you guys recommend for basic editing capabilities? I'm not looking for anthing too advanced and just want to chop and change a few videos and include annotation etc.

Unfortunatly Abobe Premiere Elements is not compatible with the machine i intend to use this onso are there any others that are suitable?

TIA
Dan.

yup

another vote for vdub, invaluable tool for video editing

(wouldn't be so good for video creation though, like music videos etc..)

i've herad Sony Vegas is not too shabby alternative to premiere (but i've never used it)

Both Pinnacle 10 and Ulead do good packages and Serif has Movie Plus 5. I have used Pinnacle for some time with good results. Serif Movie Plus 4 was on special several weeks ago at £9.95 +p&p direct from Serif. At that price I picked up a copy to evaluate. Seems quite good at first glance, even allows multiple video tracks. They might still be doing it and for the price it can't really be beat.

Possible move to photography and video forum for more answers?

I've used Vegas for a couple of years now. Excellent tool which I prefer to elements but like so many other programs, to get the most out of it you need to do your research.
