Heya guys, im kinda ready to introduce hammer to new computer.

On my old machine I used to use "Blaze Media Pro" but now when I try to do anything like saving audio I just get "Could Not Open Audio Codec".

When I try the trial of Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 it just hangs on loading

Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate
Intel Dual Core 2.8ghz Processor
4GB Dual Channel 6400 Memory (OCZ)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound Card (Original before all the extra versions)

Does anyone know of any software to cut bits of video out so I can merge them later that works with this crap OS.

Wish XP 32bit never had any probs detecting full ram.

As the error message implies you don't have a codec. What format are you trying to save the audio as?

Tried using MP3, Wav and even using the programs own LAME codec

Edit
Also random times I get

Run-Time Error -214722073 (80040303)

FormatFile Error

I've got the full version of this (running on a very simialr spec PC) and it can take 6-7 minutes to load up. If I change the shortcut to run in XP SP2 compatibility mode then it loads/runs in seconds.

With 4GB RAM it's debatable whether it's worth upgrading from 32-bit anyway, just because 64-bit actually uses more RAM (the way I understand it is some of the things loaded into memory are 64 bits long instead of 32 bits)

I did read this on another site

* A 32 bit OS can only use 4GB of memory total, that means if you have 4GB of ram and your graphic card has 1GB of ram, you have a total of 5GB of memory.

* Out of that 5GB of memory, you can only use 4GB total. 1GB the graphic card will take up, so now the 32bit OS can only use 3GB.

Will I have any trouble if I decide to goto XP ?

Cheers mate, worked like a charm.

Does this also stop the random hangups the program sometimes have as well.

Glad that worked, I've not had any problems with the software except for the initial loading times.

Have you tried the Powerdirector forum, they can be very helpful.
