Video Editing Software

I'm looking for some cheap, or even free if posible, video editing software. I'm looking to make a few videos and was wondering what people would recommend. I've used Adobe Premiere a little bit in the past but obviously that's quite expensive

I've used one or two free ones including Windows Live Movie Maker and they all seem to work ok until you burn the video to a dvd and then they don't appear full screen.
I believe you need an HD version to get full screen, so I am interested to what other programmes people recommend

You could try Movie Plus starter edition, its free http://www.serif.com/free-video-editing-software/

I second that. I've moved on to Final Cut Pro 7 but Sony Vegas is superb value for money.
