Can anyone recommend a good editing program to use?

I will be editing videos i have taken on my holiday, mostly to remove some swearing, combine videos together and also add music tracks behind the video.

Paid or free is fine.

Cheers :)

Windows live movie maker is free and reasonable to throw a few videos together.

Sony do a program called Movie Studio which is a cut down Vegas, Vegas is about £800+ and Movie studio is just a cut down version, I bought my copy for around £30 IIRC.

I've never been held back by it yet and I make a few videos that I post up to youtube.

I second the Windows Live Movie Maker. It is pretty simple, and has some good effects and as already said it is FREE!

A good editor I have used in the past is TMPGEnc Xpress. Although the new version has another name and can be found here.

If there is a demo available I would try it out first. But it's not overly priced.

there's also lightworks... both free and paid versions with different 'features'.

Personally I'd use premiere or windows live movie maker for your needs though :)
