My brother has asked me to make a youtube video for him from a speech he gave at a friends wedding.

He has 2 video files from different cameras/angles and wants me to cut them together to add some interest.

He also wants some sound effects added in.

Lightworks looks good, but without the timeline rendering would be a lot of learning curve as you won't be able to see the results of your changes easily.

Any other free bits of software that would be worth looking at ?

Depending on how long it will take you, possibly download a 30 day trial of Adobe Premiere? I've got the full version of Premiere Elements which is the light version which will allow you to do what you need to.

On the subject, is anyone running Sony Studio 12 on Windows 10? I'm after an editor for a new laptop and it's pretty cheap at the moment.

Up until now I've used an old version of Premier but never really got on with it, it's very picky about input formats I have to convert everything to Mpeg2 to guarantee no crashes and I have to re-teach myself where everything is every time I use it.

It only says Win 7 on the specs, from what I've managed to Google it seems people who have upgraded the OS have had things go wrong, but installing Sony after the upgrade has worked OK. Still looking for the definitive answer though.
