Hi guys,

I've got a bunch of footage & photos from our travels I'd like to edit together into something fun (well, try to)

I've used iMovie and whilst it works it's clunky and a bit annoying. Can anyone recommend any other software that doesn't require a past of video editing knowledge to use which gives good-ish results please?

If it's just a once off, it seems a bit mad to spend a load on Resolve or Vegas? iMovie would surely do you well for putting together a basic sequence.

Could always use a trial of premiere etc though I suppose.

Sony Movie Studio Platinum has a 30 day trial and is really user friendly.

Well Davinci make professional software, studios often to use it for commercial and film work. It could be a steep learning curve. The others are, I would imagine, more consumer orientated.

I've not used any of the software listed here, including Resolve, I used to edit on FCP, but now use Premiere.
